Bussum’s open atelier weekend was a resounding success! How nice to see many of you again.
Fortunately, we have more and I would like to invite you on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 June 2022 from 13.00-17.00. Then I participate in the National Atelier Weekend. Let the birds fly towards each other, come meet again at last in my colorful studio. A Lazy art afternoon where delicious snacks and drinks are waiting for you. Finally we can meet again! What a party! Be welcome and come enjoy!
Children are also welcome to make beautiful things with street chalk!
It was especially nice to finally meet each other again with a festive glass of bubbly (also alcohol-free), and above all to relax.

The Painting of the Year 2021 is a unique worldwide painting competition. This year I participate and I submitted 2 of my artworks: Notre Dame and Don’t burn my hopes. The winner will win a nice amount or a nice sales exhibition in Amsterdam!

The Lazy Sunday Art Afternoon is a recurring event where I warmly invite art lovers, friends and families for a cozy get-together.
An afternoon to warm your heart in an uncomplicated way, a paradise where everyone can meet each other with a snack and a drink.
Children are allowed to write on the floor, you will be taken on a ‘tour de troubadour’ along my paintings. Bring your friends!
Finally we can welcome you again in our workshops. After a long wait, you are welcome to experience the smell of paint again and to let the creative wind blow through your hair or caress it against your skin. Of course I will welcome you as you are used to with a nice snack and a drink.

Opening hours: Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Friday evening 7 pm – 8.30 pm. Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm.
The opening is on Saturday 14 September 2019 at 2 pm by Erna Koelman.
The very special thing about this common exhibition is that you can view various different interpretations of birds. For those who know my work, my birds fly everywhere. My birds are inspired by the great poem by Drs.P. Comforter. This bird is no longer in my possession, but it beautifully reflects the power of a bird.
The Comforter and the Fly-Backers, they are birds that comfort us, sometimes even save our existence. The Terugvliegers are birds that fly in the opposite direction to save the species in case of calamities. The Comforters are birds such as Drs. P she described she described in his poem. In short: if you lose something, you are sometimes sad. There is a bird that flies all over the world, you hear its song, but you don’t see it. One day he will also sit in front of your window. You don’t see him, but you hear his song and he flies away with your grief. This leaves room to paint this Comforter as you see it.
During my workshops in my studio or on location you can make Comforters alone or together with your darlings. One of my special projects together with artist Ilse Valkenburg is Reload, in which we made Comforters and Dream Trees together with young ex-cancer patients. If you are interested in this, with your loved ones or your company or foundation, be welcome and send an email in the contact form. The Comforter that you made together with your critically ill mother or girlfriend will remain an indelible memory later. And I make sure that you feel totally at ease with tasty snacks or liquid food, tea or wine. With me you can leave the worries at home and make a nice memory together. A bird full of hope and love.
